What is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping therapy is an ancient alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This therapy is believed to promote healing by improving blood flow, relieving muscle tension, and reducing inflammation. The cups can be made of glass, bamboo, or silicone and may be heated or used with a vacuum pump to create suction. Cupping therapy is commonly used to alleviate pain, relax muscles, and address conditions such as back pain, migraines, and respiratory disorders. Discover the benefits of cupping therapy and how it can enhance your overall well-being at DymondBack Cupping.
Services
Dry Cupping
Dry cupping, as opposed to wet cupping, which involves drawing blood, comprises both fixed and movable cupping. On specific pressure points and meridian lines on the body, it uses customized cups and a suction pump. The muscle is pulled into the cup and left to promote increased blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, encourage cell repair, and aid in various forms of regeneration. This in turn, releases stagnant energy and re-energizes the body. Based on the client’s strength, health, specific disease, level of energy, and age, various pressures are applied depending on the techniques used.
Wet Cupping (Hijama)
Wet cupping, also known as "Hijama Cupping," involves a distinct approach compared to dry cupping. In wet cupping, the practitioner prepares the area by sanitizing it with alcohol before proceeding. They then use a surgical blade to gently scratch the outer layers of the skin beneath the cup, facilitating the release of toxic blood. This process aims to eliminate stagnant blood, lymph, uric acid, and other impurities from the body. Retaining such substances in the bloodstream can negatively impact overall health, including blood supply, organ functions, and other bodily systems. Failure to expel these toxins may lead to the onset of new diseases or exacerbate existing illnesses.
