What is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of healing that has gained popularity in recent years. It’s been hard to miss the distinctive red spots covering athletes’ bodies at events like the Olympics and UFC, but cupping therapy is not only for professionals. Cupping therapy is a natural, holistic and preventative treatment. The benefits of this treatment have led to its expansion to many countries throughout the world, including the US, China, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Our Services

Dry Cupping

Dry cupping, as opposed to wet cupping, which involves drawing blood, comprises both fixed and movable cupping. On specific pressure points and meridian lines on the body, it uses customized cups and a suction pump. The muscle is pulled into the cup and left to promote increased blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, encourage cell repair, and aid in various forms of regeneration. This in turn, releases stagnant energy and re-energizes the body. Based on the client’s strength, health, specific disease, level of energy, and age, various pressures are applied depending on the techniques used.

Wet Cupping (Hijama)

Similar to dry cupping, wet cupping, also known as “Hijama Cupping,” includes scraping the skin beneath the cup to pull out toxic blood. To sanitize the region before cupping, the practitioner rubs alcohol on the area. Then uses a surgical blade to scratch the skin’s outermost layers beneath the cup to cause blood to emerge. The body needs to expel these toxic, unhealthy, stagnant blood, lymph, uric acid, and other impurities. The rest of the blood supply, organ functions, and other body systems are all impacted if it remains in the bloodstream. It results in the development of new diseases or worsens an existing sickness.
